Julian Counihan is the Founder and General Partner of Schematic Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on technology that makes and moves the world. He founded Schematic in 2017, investing across supply chain, industrial technology, and the emerging field of Physical AI. Before launching Schematic, Julian worked as a software developer at Fortna, focusing on warehouse control and automation systems, and later in technology investment banking at Citibank. Over the past decade, he has made inception-stage investments across supply chain, manufacturing, industrial software, and robotics, including Harbinger, Altana, Platform Science, Airspace Technologies, and Flock Freight. Schematic is one of the few active pre-seed venture funds investing in Physical AI with experience across multiple innovation cycles. Across Funds I and II, 12% of portfolio companies are unicorns, and 97% have raised follow-on rounds. Building on that track record, Schematic is now preparing to launch Fund III in 2026.
